Part B
The differences of Jess and me celebrating Easter is that , my parents gave me and my brother Easter presents ! its seems weird as it was not like my birthday or Christmas , but they did anyway . they insisted it , as they said it was a meaningful event . we also bought Easter eggs , those chocolates , and dude , i think i ate more then a dozen ! Basically , i enjoyed Easter A LOT . similar ties are , we went to church early in the morning , we sang beautiful hymns , and of course , the occasional quarrels of what to wear , but is was a very "family" quarrel , nothing much . No matter what , i treasure every single thing that our family celebrate/do together , these are my precious little childhood memories =)

Part A
Every year , my family and I would celebrate chinese new year with the countdown first . We would go to our grandparent's house for a renuion dinner and after that , it will be the normal gathering - chit chatting about our future and goals for the new year ahead . We had steamboat , and i only can use one word to describe it . AWESOME !
The next day , we went to our our grandparent's and paternal grandparent's house to bai nian ( celebrate new year ) and my brother and i said auspicious words to our grandparents , uncles and aunties . It was a great day and we recieved lots of ang paos (red packets) . And WOW i became "rich" overnight ! hahas
I always feel that chinese new year is an important occasion and that we must always celebrate this meaningful festival with our family . Most importantly , i can get to see my distant relatives that i haven't seen in a VERY long time, even my great grandmother came to Singapore from Batam to soak in this joyful atmosphere . I love chinese new year , and of course , money come rolling in man !

PART C
On the days before the New Year celebration Chinese families give their home a thorough cleaning. It is believed the cleaning sweeps away the bad luck of the preceding year and makes their homes ready for good luck.
The biggest event of any Chinese New Year's Eve is the dinner every family will have.
In northern China, it is customary to make dumplings after dinner and have it around midnight. Dumplings symbolize wealth because their shape is like a Chinese tael.
The first day of Chinese New Year is a time when families visit the oldest and most senior members of their extended family, usually their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents.Members of the family who are married also give red packets containing cash to junior members of the family, mostly children and teenagers.
On the other days, families will visit others house to give their blessing to them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Christmas, is an annual holiday falling on December 25 that honors and celebrates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.
Christmas is celebrated throughout the Christian population, but it is also celebrated by many non-Christians, usually because of its cultural status and its non-sectarian winter-related traditions.
Originating from Western culture, where the holiday is characterized by the exchange of gifts among friends and family members, some of the gifts are attributed to a character called Santa Claus Modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, church celebrations, and the display of various decorations—including the Christmas tree, lights, mistletoe, nativity scenes and holly.
I feel that no matter what event we celebrates, as long as we are with our family and love ones,it will be a wonderfull event no matter what tradition the event has.To me, days like Christmas and Chinese New Year means that i will have more time to spend with my family.
part B
The differences between Jess's experience during Christmas with my experience during Chinese New Year is that Jess exchange present with Leslie during Christmas but for me, i gave oranges to adults and they will give back two oranges and a red packet.
Jess have to work during christmas but i get to have fun during Chinese New Year. Jess had to save money to buy things for his sister but for me, i do not have to do so.
The similarity is that Jess has a great friend Leslie to celebrate Christmas with him, and i have great friends who celebrate Chinese New year with me also! They made my Chinese New Year more fun.
i enjoyed Chinese New Year just like Jess enjoyed his Christmas.
part A
Every year,My family and i will go out together a few days before Chinese New Year to buy new clothes.To us,buying new clothes for the new year means welcoming the new year ahead. We will change most of our things like bed sheet,toothbrush and more to welcome the new year.
My family and i went to my grandmother's house on Chinese New Year eve to have our reunion dinner.Every family members sit down and have our dinner together, it is a really great time for us to relax and have a break after a whole year of hardworking and to enjoy a wonderful and delicious meal with the whole family.
During the first day of Chinese New Year, my family and i went to my grandmother's house again.My sister and i said lucky words to the adults when giving them oranges and then they will give us red packets to wish us do well in studies.At night, we went out for steamboat, we all chat while eating and we all had a lot of fun. After eating, we all went back with a full stomach, it was such a delicious dinner. At home, we all sat down and had a great chat. As my family members are all very buzy,Chinese New Year is the only time where we can sit down and have a good chat.
I feel that Chinese New Year is a great time for every family members to come together and chat. It is also a long break for adults who have worked hard for the whole year. I love Chinese New Year as it is the only time where i can see my whole family together and during Chinese New Year, i can eat a lot of delicious food.
Part A :
Many people have steamboats for their Chinese New Year and it goes the same for me too .
For my family , we eat steamboat for every reunion dinner . It comes only once a year though . I don't get to eat steamboat every now and then , not even twice a year !
Steamboats are nice though . After Chinese New Year , i always find myself gaining excess baggage on me as the food never fails to attract me to eat them up .
It is way too tempting and too sumptuous !
On the second day , we went around to my maternal and paternal grandparents' houses to celebrate Chinese New Year . My brother and i collected many red packets(a.k.a angpaos) and felt as though we were as rich as Bill Gates that night . Er , joking .
The atmosphere was very exciting when you see money coming in . And that there were so many distant relatives i never heard and finally saw them . We were all so filled with joy during Chinese New Year . It was really great .
~~~
Part B :
Jess and his family went to church during Easter , i do not celebrate Easter though . But for Christmas , i did went out with my family for a simple car ride around Singapore and yet another sumptuous meal . Jess's parents gave their children presents but mine doesn't give . We don't really celebrate Christmas though , just a simple dinner and some time together will do for us . (:

During Chinese New Year eve , my family and I ate reunion dinner together . We had steamboat that night . I felt very happy as after the reunion dinner , my brothers and I received red packets from our parents . It is a tradition of the Chinese that parents must give their children red packets to wish them good luck and to grow up healthily . On that night , my family and I watched television and chatted happily together . We were smiling very happily as we enjoyed the Chinese New Year Celebration .
On the next day , my family and I went to my grandmother's house and ate there . Plus , me and my brothers received a lot of red packets . Then , we went to City Hall and shopped there .
On the second day of Chinese New Year , i went to my home teacher's house . Her house is big and we had a lot of fun that day . We played many fun games and ate lots of things there . My classmates and i enjoyed ourselves ! I love Chinese New Year !
~~~
Actually , my family did not really celebrate much during Christmas . I called my friend and we organised a Christmas party and celebrate Christmas with her together with my brothers while Jess did not receive any gifts from his family . At least I did . We exchange gifts with my brothers . Jess's mother bought gifts for the little girls , while my parents did not buy any present for us . Jess and Leslie exchange gifts like my brothers and my friend . Jess did not feel that Christmas was coming when he was with his family .
